'Venmo $5 to Save a COVID-19 Child Victim’s Life' Posts Mask-less Sorority Girl

ELON, NC—Elon’s top COVID-19 philanthropist and well-known face on campus, Minnie Moonshine, member of Sigma Theta Delta (STD) sorority, was spotted on her friends Snapchat story mask-less after posting philanthropy call for donations. **STD or Sigma Theta Delta mentioned in this story has no relation to the English nerds (Sigma Tau Delta or STD) on Elon’s campus**

The previous Friday, Moonshine had posted a picture captioned “Swipe if you pledge to Venmo $5 to save a child COVID-19 victim’s life!” on her private Instagram account. The post resulted $700,000 in donations to go to STD’s philanthropy.

On Saturday night, an anonymous member of an on-campus organization sent in the picture of Moonshine that was taken at the Sigma Mu Delta (SMD) fraternity house. On Sunday afternoon, Moonshine was called into the dean's office for questioning. The picture has since been removed from the Snapchat story and is in the hands of school authorities.

As the top member to bring in donations for their philanthropy, 4DaRonaBabies, it was a shock to both her organization and parents that Moonshine was seen without a mask. “I put my BEST foot forward when trying to raise money for this cause. It was a minor mistake not wearing a mask. I mean, I was social distancing.” Moonshine said. “Just so everyone knows, Daddy is no longer backing my monthly allowance as a punishment.”

“I really just wanted to post the 'swipe up' picture to let my followers know I am a huge supporter of the 'save the COVID-19 children' movement. I also just like the clout of being its top supporter.” Moonshine said, coughing on the interviewer with her mask below her nose. “I already had the rona, but I still wear a mask around campus because I care about the cause that much.”

After the mask incident, it was decided by Moonshine that all funds from the swipe up post will be refunded to the donors in apology for her actions. Her friends report she has given all of her daddy’s money to 4DaRonaBabies to make up for the loss.

Moonshine will be removed from the sororities roster next semester and banned from all future fraternity parties. An anonymous contributor said that Moonshine was patient zero in the STD sorority house and spread it to the entire Loy community.

Her boyfriend, Johnny Deep, in SMD declined to comment on the situation. This story will be updated as more details are released.
